Farleigh Hungerford Castle

Today we went to Farleigh Hungerford Castle, a castle ruin maintained by English Heritage :)

It’s not a huge castle because it was originally built just so the Hungerford family could show off how successful they were, so it was a big house…..you can get a free audio guide there, and the story of the history of the Hungerford family is really interesting, with many rises and falls throughout their history.


There are some buildings on the site which are still intact, such as the chapel, and outside the shop you can try out your bow and arrow skills using poison arrows ;P


It’s also a nice place to have a picnic ;)
