At-Bristol – Bristol Doors Open Day 2014

Yesterday was Bristol Doors Open Day, and each year we try to visit at least 3 of the venues taking part :)

The first place we went to was At-Bristol (AKA @Bristol) where we took part in a behind the scenes tour about how the building is sustainably run.

The building uses a phase-change storage tank which enables them to store heat overnight for use the next day….it’s like a giant battery that the building uses for its heating and cooling systems ^^

As part of the tour we were taken into all of the plant rooms where the guide explained how everything is linked together and works in a sustainable way.

We finished the tour at the sensor panels for their new solar system, where we also got to meet the robotic falcon which helps keep seagulls off their roof hehe
