On Location: Sherlock at Tyntesfield

Large parts of the Sherlock series’ Christmas special; The Abominable Bride were filmed at Tyntesfield, which is just up the road from where we live.

We’ve been there many times as there’s always something new and interesting going on there, and even on its own the house is amazing :)
At the moment they have some things on display in relation to the filming which took place, including samples from the episode’s script and props used.

When we watched the episode on TV it was fun spotting the things we recognised from Tyntesfield, like the dinning room, bedroom etc….so when we went yesterday it was fun seeing it the other way around and matching the rooms back to what we saw on TV again hehe

It’s easy to see why Tyntesfield was chosen for use as a filming location, as it’s such an interesting house with many interesting spaces inside and out ;)
