Wray Castle is a Victorian neo-gothic castle in the Lake District, it has been owned by the National Trust since 1929 but has only been open to the public since 2014 :)
The castle is a really interesting building to walk around and look at; both inside and out…so many interesting shapes and forms make up this structure.
The castle is not really furnished, which is a shame as it would be nice to see how it looked when it was a private home, but there are some seasonal displays in some of the rooms, and a bit of information about the estate….as I mentioned though the building itself is really nice to look at ;)
There are some nice walking routes around the castle grounds, which include woodland that goes right down to the shore of Lake Windermere.
It’s a really peaceful area, very scenic, and with some great views out across the lake :)
